Gelato culture from Bern

Gelateria di Berna's first gelato went over the counter in a disused cheese dairy in Bern in 2010. Since then, they have conquered Switzerland, and rightly so. The often hundred-metre-long (no joke!!) queues in front of the gelaterias, called "Laboratori" at Gelateria di Berna, speak volumes. The founders from Bern originally learned the craft in Verona. Today, fresh gelato is produced on site in every Laboratori. Since 2021, fortunately, also in Kleinbasel.
Whenever possible, ingredients from Switzerland are used. The milk and cream used is purchased regionally and in organic quality. The ice cream selection is huge and you want to try them all anyway. Some vegan ice creams are also available, such as Heiti (aka blueberry), raspberry-ginger or Sorbetto di Cioccolato Fondente. But the best thing is to go there yourself, talk to the friendly staff, try a few flavours and then order a great ice cream. That's easily within the budget, too. The prices are almost outrageously low for handmade ice cream.
